Today you’ll find me:
Writing about Good-to-Great Mothering at Richmondmom.com
.
Discussing the Gift of Curiosity at Gifted for Leadership
Reading up on Jessica’s one-church-per-week project at 52 Prayers.
Thinking about how Jon Acuff’s right, God hates bikinis, now that the pool’s open.
Laughing at this Mommy Like Yoga commerical while writing a book chapter on comparisons.
And somewhere in there, I’m also reflecting on the service of my bro, dad, grandad and cool Coast Guard and Marine-serving cousins. I am thankful everyday for my family who faithfully loves and serves our country for crappy pay, bad food and terrible duplexes. My military roots taught me what ‘call’ to vocation means, and I am so thankful for that. Being an army brat also taught me what “o dark 30″, “cease and desist”, “Battaan death march” and “great adventures” are all about, but that’s another post for another day. So raise your hot dog, the holy food of Memorial Day, and shout HOO-AH in a toast to the men and women who serve our country and keep us all free to eat hot dogs and blog incessantly. Amen and amen!!
