How do you hear God?
Earlier this week I experienced the trifecta of a great girl’s night out: good food, great conversation, and lots of laughter. One of my favorite parts of the night was when we talked about hearing God. I was telling a story about a writing project that I’ve felt like God has been all over. One of the girls was nodding along, tracking right with me. Another had a pleasant look on your face while she listened, but after a while she glanced around and said, “Um, I don’t hear God like that.”
That was the start of a great conversation about who hears God in their daily life. We wondered aloud about God’s leanings vs. our longings. About God’s voice vs. coincidence or common sense.
It got me thinking about the times–fewer than I’d like–that I feel like God truly spoke to me. Next week I’ll be sharing some of my own “hearing God” stories as well as some of yours. So…
Your Turn:
Have you ever felt like you heard God? Leave a comment or send the scoop to my email: nicoleunice@gmail.com…and give us the specifics. When, why, what, where, how….and I’ll share them here next week. If you haven’t heard God, tell me that too.

Great subject for discussion! I think we need to be reminded frequently that God does speak to us in a variety of ways, and we can hear Him IF we are listening. I can remember too big times when God spoke to me: once when I was feeling VERY alone and abandoned by those I thought I could trust, I didn't hear God so much as felt His loving arms around me, comforting me! A second time Rick and I were seeking God's will about a new mission field. My concerns were worldly one, you know, food and shelter, but God showed me clearly through His word that He was going before us to "slay the giants in the land"! And He did!

The "bassett?" photo is perfect. Lord, give me ears to hear.
